Welcome to India!
The capital of India is a modern buzzing metropolitan city with remnants of the past strewn among the modern buildings. Much of New Delhi was planned by Sir Edwin Lutyens, who laid out a grandiose central administrative area as a testament to British imperial pretensions.
Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be greeted by a friendly member of the &Beyond team and transferred to your accommodation. Spend the evening unwinding and preparing for your adventure ahead.
Bagh Vilas
Start the day with an early flight to Raipur, followed by a scenic drive to Kanha National Park. After checking into your luxurious lodge, set off on your first game drive, exploring Kanha’s vibrant ecosystem.
This was one of the first areas to be protected under ‘Project Tiger,’ aimed at preserving this magnificent animal. One of India’s largest parks and conservation successes, Kanha is considered the jewel in the crown of the country’s network of almost 700 protected areas.
One of the joys of exploring this park is the range of habitats, each with their own characteristics. There are long stretches of tall sal trees with breaks of bamboo and large expanses of mixed deciduous forest. Riverine patches are dissected by streams of gin-clear water which make for perfect cooling spots for the animals in the heat.
Explore the forests of Kanha on twice-daily game drives accompanied by an expert naturalist, who will point out and explain details about the fascinating animals and plants of the jungle. Keep an eye out for dhole (wild dogs), barasingha deer and, of course, the majestic tiger.
Jamtara Wilderness Camp
After a final morning safari in Kanha, journey to Pench National Park. Check in to your camp and relax for the evening, soaking in the tranquillity of the surrounding teak forests.
Pench National Park is a spectacular reserve set among typical Central Indian teak jungle, offering a serene and secluded experience. Taking its name from the meandering Pench River which intersects the park, the reserve sprawls over a breathtaking landscape of hills, forests and valleys.
Get ready to go on exhilarating morning and afternoon park drives in an ideal setting to spot leopards, wild dogs, and other Jungle Book-inspired wildlife.
Waghoba Eco Lodge
On your final morning at Pench National Park, continue your safari journey with a drive to Tadoba National Park in the well-forested Chimur Hills. Settle into your eco-lodge and enjoy an afternoon park drive, exploring Tadoba’s lush forests and grasslands.
Immerse yourself in Tadoba’s wilderness with twice-daily safaris. Known for its tiger population, Tadoba also boasts sightings of sloth bears, leopards and a vibrant array of bird species — around 200 species.
Relax in the eco-lodge’s comforting surroundings each evening.
Conclude your adventure with a morning safari before departing for Nagpur. En route to the airport, visit Sevagram Ashram, where Gandhi’s legacy continues to inspire visitors from across the globe.
In 1936, Mahatma Gandhi established a small village close to the very centre of pre-partition India. This remained his home until his assassination in January 1948. This is where Gandhi wrote his journalism and pamphlets, corresponded with the world and guided the leaders of the Indian Independence movement.
The ashram established by the Mahatma continues to function, and the members follow a similar daily routine of prayers, spinning, farming and daily chores. Spinning and the production of khadi (handloom) cloth was one of Gandhi’s obsessions. The nearby Magan Khadi continues to produce and sell this exquisite cloth.
