In 2010, I received a call out of the blue to go to Uganda and amongst other adventures trek to see the gorillas. Ever since seeing the movie about Diane Fossey as a child I had dreamt of this privilege. Nothing could have prepared me for the enormity and beauty of it. Experiencing eye contact with a Silverback as he sat three metres away from me, moved my heart and shook me to the core of my being. It was akin to meeting my child for the first time.
